In this plan, you can choose from the M Course: ・T-shirt (90 – XXXL) ・Tote bag (size M) Experience the entire process of the traditional Japanese craft of 'Roketsu dyeing' (wax-resist dyeing), from drawing and dyeing to drying. No artistic talent required, and it is perfectly fine for children!! Our Roketsu dyeing artisans will provide careful guidance. You can choose and combine from many pre-prepared patterns, or create your own original design. Use a brush dipped in wax to trace your design. After that, put on boots, an apron, and gloves to dye it yourself. Once dyed, the wax is removed to complete the piece. The areas covered in wax will remain the original white color of the fabric, and you can easily create simple yet profound Roketsu-dyed works featuring unique textures like shading from the thickness of the wax and crackle patterns. The work will be completed in approximately 90 to 120 minutes and can be taken home on the same day. ～Flow of the day～ ① We have many patterns prepared, so you can choose your favorite one. Original designs are also welcome. ② Once the design is decided, use a brush dipped in wax to trace it. Heat the wax until it melts, then use the brush to trace the design onto the fabric. ③ Immerse the cotton fabric with the waxed design into the dye. Enjoy the dyeing experience yourself. ④ Soaping process: Place the dyed cotton fabric into a pot of boiling water to remove only the wax from the fabric. ⑤ After removing the wax, wash the cotton fabric with water, spin-dry it, and let it dry to finish. ⑥ You can take your finished work home on the same day. Please take home a precious memory from Kyoto.
