- Trip Overview -

  • Easily reach the Michi-no-Eki Mishima-juku by bus, then join the crowds heading to the observation deck for the famous Aizu landmark, the 'Tadami River First Bridge.' Overlook the bridge from the highest vantage point and create unforgettable memories of your trip to Japan.


  • Okuaizu
    The character 'Oku' in Japanese means 'deep,' so Okuaizu refers to the region located even deeper in the mountains than Aizu. Situated in the southwestern part of Fukushima, between Nishi-Aizu and Minami-Aizu, it is a collective term for seven towns and villages, including Yanaizu, Mishima, Kaneyama, Showa, and Tadami. Okuaizu features rich mountainous terrain and is traversed by the Tadami River. When visiting Okuaizu, you can enjoy beautiful natural scenery while experiencing the famous Yanaizu and Nishiyama hot springs.

  • Tadami River First Bridge
    The Tadami River First Bridge is 174 meters long and is part of the railway line connecting Aizu-Wakamatsu to Niigata. It is the only arch bridge among the railway bridges spanning the Tadami River and is a perennial top-three favorite in Japan's popular bridge rankings. The Tadami Line route is considered a breathtaking hidden gem. From the train window, you can admire the beauty of the Tadami and Tadami River valleys. From the high observation point, you can look down at the bridge as the train whistles past with white smoke, creating a dreamy scene—especially when covered in winter snow—that will leave you spellbound.


- Transportation to Fukushima Prefecture (Destination: Aizu-Wakamatsu) -

Although the Fukushima Prefectural Government is located in Fukushima City, most tourist attractions require a transfer at Koriyama, the gateway to Fukushima, to reach Aizu-Wakamatsu. It is recommended to stay in these two locations when planning your itinerary.

  • This itinerary is shared with other Japanese tourists, and the tour guide on the bus will introduce the sightseeing spots in Japanese.
  • It is not possible to participate or assign bus seats halfway.

  • If the JR Tadami Line is suspended, delayed, or the bus cannot run according to the timetable due to weather and road conditions, it may not be possible to watch the train passing by, so please understand.

  • When going to the shooting spot of the Tadamigawa First Bridge, you will step on the snow. It is recommended to wear waterproof and non-slip shoes to avoid slipping while walking.

  • The shift time may be delayed due to force majeure factors such as vehicle conditions or weather, please forgive me.

  • Please note that the bus may change its route or stop due to weather factors or snow accumulation.

  • Please arrive at the meeting place early, the bus will leave on time, and no waiting will be allowed.
