Iquitos: Amazon Excursion with the Kukama Community, Nanay River, & Canopy｜Peru

Discover the natural and cultural richness of the Peruvian Amazon on a full-day excursion from Iquitos. After pick-up from your hotel, head to the Bellavista Nanay cruise port to board a boat that will sail the Amazon rivers.

During the tour, you'll see the impressive confluence of the Amazon, Nanay, and Itaya Rivers, a unique setting where, conditions permitting, you can observe the famous river dolphins in their natural habitat.

The adventure continues with a visit to a native Kukama community, where you'll learn about their traditions, customs, and way of life, as well as some of their skills and cultural expressions.

Afterwards, you'll visit the Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm, a space dedicated to the conservation of Amazonian butterflies. You can also observe other species of local wildlife, such as monkeys, macaws, and parrots.

If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, you'll enjoy an adventure circuit above the treetops, crossing a suspension bridge and gliding down a zipline with the appropriate safety gear.

Later, you'll have free time for lunch at a floating restaurant (lunch not included) and to relax, with about two hours to swim in the river and enjoy the Amazonian landscape.

Before the end of the experience, you'll visit the Nanay Bridge to admire a beautiful sunset over the river, a perfect finale to a day full of nature, adventure, and culture. Finally, you will return to your hotel in Iquitos.
