Strasbourg Christmas market tour and culinary city tour with tastings｜France

The Strasbourg Christmas Market, also known as the Christkindelsmärik (the dialect name), is considered one of the oldest Christmas markets in Europe and the oldest in France. Christmas huts, richly decorated and shiny facades, decorations, lights, the large Christmas tree on Kleber Square – Strasbourg is definitely worth a trip during the Advent season.

There are countless varieties of our Bredele (the Alsatian Christmas cookies). The Männele (our Weckmann), a small winter pastry made from yeast dough, is simply unavoidable. Citrus fruits, dried fruits, spices such as star anise or cinnamon, gingerbread or other aromatic, fragrant Advent treats such as Hützelbrot, Baerewecke, and Christstollen should not be missed.

When it comes to savory specialties, you should try snacks such as Baguette flambée (baguette bread topped with Flammkuchen ingredients) and Bretzel gratiné (baked with cheese on top). You should also try raclette or Munstiflette (spaetzle or potato casserole with melted Munster soft cheese), a gourmet sandwich with foie gras, steaming choucroute (sauerkraut), and Grumbeerekiechle (potato pancakes). Whether red or white, mulled wine, warm apple juice, or a Christmas beer are perfect accompaniments.
