From Syracuse: The Godfather Filming Locations Tour｜Italy

Departing from Syracuse, you will head to Savoca, one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages in Sicily, starring in numerous scenes from the film.

The first stop will be Bar Vitelli, located right at the entrance to the village, where Michael Corleone asks Apollonia's father for his daughter's hand in marriage. Here, you can take the opportunity to taste a refreshing lemon granita, and then continue walking through the characteristic narrow streets.

Once you reach the historic center of the town, you will visit the church of San Nicolò (or Santa Lucia), where one of the most famous scenes of the film, the wedding of the protagonists, was recorded.

Enjoying a breathtaking view, you will then move on to Forza D'Agrò, a famous medieval village that serves as the backdrop for numerous sets of the renowned film work.

Arriving in the historic Piazza del paese, you will cross a flight of steps and the famous Durazzesco arch, until you reach the churchyard of the Church of the Holy Trinity, also known as the church of Sant' Agostino; you can't help but imagine yourself even more inside the series, in a pure medieval and authentically Sicilian setting.
