Tour and organic wine tasting in a historic winery in Rome｜Italy

The winery is located within the medieval village of Castello di Torre in Pietra, where the existence of the vineyards is documented from the 16th century, when the estate belonged to the Peretti family of Pope Sixtus V. The winery – carved out of the tuff hill behind the castle – was already used in the 1500s for the production and storage of wine. The Osteria dell'Elefante is the latest project that completes the activity of the winery and the organic farm.
The idea is to offer our wines paired with the ingredients and cuisine of the Roman countryside.
This is why we use our own farm products and those of other organic farmers and ranchers in Lazio.
The experience includes discovering the native grape varieties of Lazio. We organize tastings among the barrels, to tell you about our organic wines and let you taste them.
This is paired with a selection of local food products.
The sommelier will tell you about the history of our winery, the varieties of our land, and our wines. The food tasting includes a selection of 4 wines paired with a lunch in our tavern, in the room carved out of the tufo stone.
