Informations sur le produit

Welcome to Tromsø! My name is Mirko, and since 2018 I have been fortunate enough to have the best job in the world: welcoming you, Arctic explorers, and accompanying you on a journey to discover my city, the breathtaking landscapes that surround it, and the dancing Northern Lights.

In the summer of 2025, I started my activity: my goal is to offer you an authentic and memorable experience, putting all my passion for the Arctic at your service — for its rich and surprising history, its living culture, its wild nature, the silent twilights of the polar night, and the warm shades of the midnight sun.

To best admire the Northern Lights, we must leave the light pollution of Tromsø and immerse ourselves in the Arctic wilderness. The direction we take will depend on the evening's weather: clouds can hide the Aurora, so our priority will be to find clear skies. When necessary, we might even cross the border into Finland!

Once we find the ideal spot, we'll choose an intimate location, away from other tours and artificial lights. The wait is part of the experience: the aurora can appear after a few minutes or after a couple of hours. To make the wait enjoyable, we will light a bonfire, enjoy homemade soup, cookies and hot chocolate, and I will tell you all the secrets of this natural show. Winter temperatures can vary between +5°C and -30°C, so I will provide thermal suits for all guests.

If you have a camera, I will teach you how to set it up to best capture the Aurora. In addition, I will personally take professional photos for you, so you can keep an indelible memory of this magical night.

It is important to remember that nature is unpredictable: in rare cases, the sky may remain overcast or solar activity may be weak. However, even on the most uncertain evenings, a 20-minute break in the clouds is all it takes to witness a breathtaking show. Thanks to my knowledge of the local weather and the use of advanced tools, we will maximize the chances of being in the right place at the right time.

The tour duration will depend on the time needed to find the ideal conditions. Sometimes a 30-minute drive from Tromsø is enough; other times, a real Aurora hunt will be required, exploring a larger area to find the starry sky. Whatever the night, I guarantee you an unforgettable adventure!

  • Know Before You Go: Clouds in Tromsø? No problem! The tour takes place outside the city, in search of clear skies. The forecast changes often: if you have any doubts about the weather, please contact me before canceling.

  • Know Before You Go: Although I will provide you with thermal overalls suitable for arctic temperatures, I strongly recommend that you already have basic winter clothing (inner layers).

  • Know Before You Go: The Northern Lights are a completely unpredictable natural phenomenon. Nights without the aurora are rare, but they do happen. For these reasons, it is important to remember that the Northern Lights can never be 100% guaranteed.

  • Know Before You Go: To ensure a comfortable environment for all participants, smoking is not allowed during the entire tour duration, not even during breaks outside the vehicle. Even a short cigarette outdoors tends to impregnate jackets and gloves, and in a confined space like a minivan this can cause great discomfort to other guests.
