Your Arctic adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Longyearbyen. Together, we explore the unique surroundings of the world’s northernmost settlement and discover how nature, history and modern Arctic life are connected.
The tour starts in the impressive Adventdalen valley, surrounded by dramatic mountains and vast Arctic landscapes. Along the way, we stop at scenic viewpoints where you can capture the beauty of Svalbard’s wilderness and learn about local wildlife, geology and the forces that shaped this remote environment.
We continue towards the western side of Longyearbyen, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Global Seed Vault and the Arctic World Archive. Your local guide shares fascinating stories about Svalbard’s history, international research, coal mining heritage and the challenges of living in the High Arctic.
The journey continues through Longyeardalen and the settlement itself, where you will discover important places that shape daily life today, including historic buildings, the university, church, local facilities and former mining areas.
Throughout the tour, there are several opportunities for photos and questions. With a maximum of 8 guests, the experience remains personal and relaxed, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of Longyearbyen, its people and the extraordinary Arctic environment that surrounds it.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off back at your accommodation with a better overview of Svalbard and many impressions to take with you into the rest of your Arctic journey.
