Informations sur le produit

From the mid-16th century, the Netherlands increasingly began to host a growing Jewish community that settled mainly in Amsterdam, taking advantage of the relative religious freedom. This turned the Dutch capital into the most important center of Sephardic Jews in Western Europe, even earning it the nickname of the Dutch Jerusalem.

On this tour, you'll have the chance to learn about the culture, wealth, and influence of the Jewish community in the city.

You'll get to see the most important monuments, walk the Jodenbreestraat (Jewish Broad Street), learn about some important inhabitants of the neighborhood such as Di Pinto, Rembrandt, and Spinoza, discover the Jewish traditions that still accompany its inhabitants today, learn about the most important historical facts related to World War II, and recognize the undeniable contribution of the Jewish people to the development of commerce in the city.
