Informations sur le produit

Explore the stunning island of Heimaey in Iceland's Westman Islands with a 2.5-hour shore excursion tour. Discover the island's natural highlights, meet its most famous seasonal visitors, and enjoy the wondrous landscape and views.

Begin by exploring the southern tip of the island at Stórhöfði, home to the world's largest Atlantic puffin colony. See where more than 1.1 million puffins nest during summer, accounting for 20% of the entire global population.

Next, learn about the 1973 volcanic eruption of Eldfell, which destroyed much of the eastern part of the town and covered it in millions of tons of lava. See the volcano that overlooks the village and harbor.

Stop at Elephant Rock, a basalt cliff that has been naturally eroded into the shape of a giant elephant's head, with its trunk descending into the thrashing sea below. Finally, visit a recreation of a Viking-era church, the black Stafkirkjan church situated by the harbor.
