Depart Reykjavik and delve into the geological wonders shaped by volcanic activity along the mid-Atlantic ridge's fissure line, where eruptions, earthquakes, and seismic phenomena unfold.

Trek through recent volcanic eruption sites, spanning from 2021 to the present, near Fagradalsfjall Volcano. Witness the aftermath of the July 2023 eruption near Litli Hrutur and the ongoing activity near Sundhnukagigar Volcano, which erupted in December 2023.

Your journey extends beyond the volcanic marvels to include other Reykjanes Peninsula highlights. Experience the bubbling waters and sulphuric steam of Seltún and Gunnuhver hot springs. Traverse the Bridge between Continents for a stroll between the American and Eurasian plates.

Then explore the black sand beaches surrounding Kleifarvatn Lake before returning to Reykjavik.

  • Know Before You Go: Pick-up is offered from selected hotels, official bus stops in central Reykjavik and the cruise port. For this, please indicate which cruise port you will be arriving at

  • Know Before You Go: Due to city regulations, parts of the city centre are not accessible by bus, therefore, you will be redirected to special bus stops if you are staying in these areas.

  • Know Before You Go: The Reykjanes Peninsula, especially around Grindavík, remains geologically active. While no lava is currently flowing, an eruption could resume at any time. If that happens and certain areas close, this tour will adapt into an active volcano experience, stopping at the best possible viewpoint to witness the eruption—if conditions allow.
