Informations sur le produit

Paris is a city of extraordinary density, where the idea that “every stone breathes history” is not a cliché but a fact. This tour traces the city through its layers, starting from its Roman past, as we follow streets still aligned with ancient routes and explore why the Latin Quarter can truly be called “twice Latin.”

We’ll look at how Notre-Dame Cathedral was built, transformed, and restored over centuries, including the debate surrounding the reconstruction of its spire after the 2019 fire. Along the way, we’ll revisit the legacy of Francis I of France, uncover the curious connection between the Louvre and wolves, and see how a simple piece of wood once shaped the palace’s evolution.

We also touch on major turning points such as the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre, the imprint of Napoleon Bonaparte, and the radical transformation of Paris under Georges-Eugène Haussmann.
