Neuillac: Tour of an artisanal whisky distillery, Charente-Maritime｜France

Founded in 1878 by Jean Granchère, the Distillerie de Fontagard welcomes you to the heart of its bucolic setting, where family heritage and innovation blend to create exceptional products and moments.

Now run by the 6th generation, the Distillery opens its doors for you to discover a unique product in Charente-Maritime: a Single Malt whisky, the Whisky de Fontagard.

Concerned about the environmental impact, the Granchère family decided to plant their own barley and set up their own brewery on site in order to favor short supply chains and local networks. The distillery is also one of the few in France to use geothermal energy for several stages of production, thus limiting the use of other energy sources.

After being welcomed in the Boutique and a brief introduction, embark on a journey to discover the various production areas: from the mill to the brewing room, we will discuss the expertise surrounding our grains to preserve perfect aromas. Then the tour will take you into the ancestral distillery, where the 10 stills create the prestigious brandies, before entering the aging cellar where our whiskies will spend several years to acquire their unique aromatic notes.

Finally, the return to the Boutique will be marked by the tasting of 4 products from the range, where our unique aromatic signatures will offer you a true sensory experience.
