The Itinerary

1 Vieux-Port: Arrival of the Pharaon and first contact with Edmond's Marseille.
2 Bas de la Canebière: the young sailor's return to his father's house, with a mixture of joy and foreboding.
3 Place Bargemon: justice and betrayal at the heart of the old courts of Marseille.
4 Barred window: evocation of Edmond's first night in captivity.
5 Panier: narrow streets and small squares that recall Edmond's youth and hopes.
6 Fort Saint-Jean: an exceptional vantage point overlooking the places where the arrest took place and the open sea.
7 Drop-off at the foot of the Murailes du Fort on the seafront.

The route is about 4 km at a leisurely pace (less than two hours), with a few stairs, and is suitable for anyone in a physical condition that allows them to walk around the city.

Designed for a small group of 6 to 8 people maximum, this walk focuses on discussion, questions, and a real moment of sharing.

In less than two hours (1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours) around the Vieux-Port, the city becomes the setting for a novel: we meet the young sailor Edmond, the future Count of Monte Cristo, and we see how Marseille inspired one of the greatest adventure stories of the 19th century.
