Leave the city behind and embark on an unforgettable 5-day whisky and Highlands adventure. This small-group tour takes you deep into Scotland’s most picturesque regions, combining island life, Highland hospitality, and some of the finest whiskies Scotland has to offer. Choose to start and finish your tour in Edinburgh or Glasgow, whichever is more convenient for you.

Day 1: Edinburgh/Glasgow – Oban – Isle of Mull
We depart Edinburgh or Glasgow in the morning and head north through the dramatic scenery of the Trossachs. If the weather permits, we will pause along the way to admire the ruins of Kilchurn Castle, one of Scotland’s most photographed castles. Continuing to the charming seaside town of Oban, we enjoy a guided tour and tasting at Oban Distillery, one of Scotland’s oldest. In the afternoon, we board the ferry to the Isle of Mull, and settle into our hotel in the colorful harbor town of Tobermory.
Day 2: Isle of Mull – Tobermory Distillery – Inverness
After breakfast, we visit Tobermory Distillery to sample their distinctive island whiskies and learn about their craft. Then we set off on a scenic journey to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. From Tobermory, we take a short ferry crossing to Kilchoan. As we wind through rugged mountains and glens, we stop to admire the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the iconic railway bridge made famous by the Harry Potter films. By late afternoon we arrive in Inverness, where we check into our hotel for the night.
Day 3: Inverness – Glenmorangie & Wolfburn Distilleries – Kirkwall (Orkney Islands) We head further north after breakfast, following the scenic northeast coast of Scotland toward Caithness. Our first stop is Glenmorangie Distillery, renowned for its smooth Highland single malts. Here we enjoy a guided tour and tasting before continuing north to Wolfburn Distillery near Thurso, where we sample their distinctive handcrafted whiskies. In the afternoon, we reach Gills Bay, where we board the ferry to Orkney Islands. Upon arrival in Kirkwall, we check into our hotel, where we stay for the next two nights.
Day 4: Kirkwall – Highland Park & Scapa Distilleries
After breakfast, we set out to explore two of Orkney’s most celebrated distilleries. Our first visit is Highland Park Distillery, one of Scotland’s northernmost distilleries, where we enjoy a tour and tasting of their rich, smoky single malts. Next, we head to the nearby Scapa Distillery, to experience their unique island whiskies and learn about their traditional production methods. Afterward, we return to our hotel in Kirkwall for another overnight stay.
Day 5: Kirkwall – Return to Edinburgh or Glasgow
We wake early, check out, and make our way to the ferry terminal to return to the Scottish mainland. From here, we begin our journey south through the majestic Highlands. The drive back to Edinburgh or Glasgow takes approximately seven hours, we will stop for a lunch break and to stretch our legs.
