Discover how Britain's National Parks were created to promote health and well-being, offering a natural escape for city dwellers. How they were originally, and are once again, seen as a complimentary service to scientific medicine. Learn about the people who have lived on Dartmoor for tens of thousands of years. See Bronze Age artifacts and hear about the area's historical significance. Discover how Dartmoor's tin mines attracted traders from as far away as modern Lebanon and even the Roman Empire. Walk in the footsteps of The Dummnonni People who lived in this area and gave their name to The County of Devon.

Explore the areas rich granite deposits and hear about how it was used to literally build an Empire. The area of granite mining which you will visit is so important that it has been declared a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)

As you explore, your guide will bring the landscape to life with stories of its social history, from the New Stone Age to the present day and its geological history from about 450 million years ago to about 120 million years beofe the first dinosaur.
However, we should never lose sight of the fact that this all occurs within an amazing, protected, natural landscape.
