Informations sur le produit

Using archival photos and maps alongside today’s streets, we’ll reveal what changed, why it changed, and what those decisions mean for people and place.

Walking from market stalls to marble halls, we trace how trade, resilience, and reinvention have continually reshaped Manchester’s core.

For this particular tour, we’ll begin beside Manchester’s oldest surviving building, part of the medieval complex at Chetham’s, before moving across to the Cathedral, a place that has witnessed centuries of change in the heart of the city. From here we walk into the original Market Place, once the hub of trading life, where the foundations of Manchester’s rise were first laid.

We then trace this story forward through the great halls of the Royal Exchange and the industries that powered the city’s global reach. Along the way, we look at a place shaped by commerce, upheaval and transformation… where bombs and tragedies have scarred the streets but also brought people closer together.

We finish at the Royal Exchange, a building that embodies Manchester’s resilience and reinvention, standing as a reminder of how the city continually adapts to challenge and change.
