Venture out onto the streets of Bankside to hear stories of Shakespeare's London including Thameside ferrymen, gruesome animal-baiting sports, and the rise of one of Elizabethan London’s original playhouses, The Rose, where it is believed that some of Shakespeare’s earliest plays were first performed. This guided walking tour begins at Shakespeare's Globe in the exhibition space underneath the building, you will then be led out on to the streets of Bankside and immersed into the stories of Shakespeare's London and the history of the area before ending inside the iconic Globe Theatre.
