Informations sur le produit

Begin your adventure at the Budock Vean Hotel’s private beach. Paddle through the peaceful waters of the Helford River, passing charming sailing boats and the lush banks of ancient oak forests.

Depending on the tides and wind conditions, either cross the Helford River to the tranquil Frenchman’s Creek—the inspiration for Daphne du Maurier’s novel, Frenchman’s Creek—or head towards Falmouth Bay, exploring secluded beaches, pretty waterside villages, and beautiful coastlines dotted with famous gardens.

The Helford River is no ordinary river—it is a ria, a flooded valley formed over 10,000 years ago after the last Ice Age when the sea flooded the valley. Over 2,000 years of maritime history have shaped this river, and because it’s saltwater, the Helford is home to a remarkable variety of marine life and sea birds.

The serene surroundings of the Helford River, with its calm waters and dramatic landscapes, are a true haven for nature lovers. As you paddle, you’ll be surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), brimming with wildlife and history.

On sunny days, stop for a swim at a secluded beach, where you can cool off in the soft waters of the creek. Paddle through a region rich in history and teeming with diverse wildlife, including seals, sea birds, and more. The river’s unique saltwater environment means you’re likely to spot a wide range of marine species.

We use excellent tandem Tarpon 130 and Ocean Kayaks with a small number of single kayaks for individuals and odd number groups.

Whether exploring Frenchman’s Creek, heading out to Falmouth Bay, or cruising by peaceful villages and famous gardens, every moment of this adventure offers unforgettable views.
