Fürholzen: Pottery Wheel Workshop for All Levels｜Germany

Immerse yourself in the meditative world of pottery at our welcoming workshop in Fürholzen. Guided by experienced instructors, you’ll learn how to transform raw clay into beautiful, functional pieces using the pottery wheel. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already have experience, this course is designed to support your creative journey at every step.

Your session begins with an introduction to the properties of clay and a demonstration of each stage of wheel throwing, from centering to shaping and finishing. You’ll then have plenty of hands-on time to practice, with as much or as little guidance as you wish. Feel the calming sensation of clay between your fingers as you experiment with forms—most participants create between two and six unique pieces, often mugs or bowls, but sometimes truly one-of-a-kind works.

All materials are provided, and you can use as much clay as you need during the class. After your creations have dried for 2–3 weeks, we fire them in our studio. You can then book a separate glazing session to decorate your pieces with colors from our extensive palette, or choose a dip-glaze finish in one of five shades. Enjoy a complimentary glass of Prosecco, coffee, or tea as you work, and soak up the friendly, creative energy of the group.

The workshop concludes at our studio, where you’ll leave your pieces for firing and, if desired, glazing. You’ll be able to collect your finished ceramics later or have them shipped for an additional fee—leaving you with lasting memories and handmade treasures.
