Informations sur le produit

Experience Leipzig from an elevation of 164 feet (50m)!
Experience Leipzig from a whole new perspective! Climb the 232 steps of St. Thomas Church's tower and enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the city from a height of 164 feet. But it's not just the breathtaking panorama that makes the tower tour unique – the climb itself offers many exciting discoveries.
Accompanied by our expert tour guide, you will make several stops along the way that will provide fascinating insights into the history of the church and the city of Leipzig. A special highlight is the historic “graffiti” left by a Saxon foot artilleryman, dating back to the time of the 1813 Battle of the Nations. The inscription in the stonework bears witness to the dramatic events of that time. Equally impressive is a cannonball that got stuck in the tower's timberwork during the fighting in 1813 – a silent witness to one of the greatest battles in European history.
Another extraordinary experience awaits you in the historic tower keeper's quarters, which were inhabited from 1533 to 1917. Spanning three levels, it paints a vivid picture of the daily life of the tower keepers' families. For centuries, they guarded the city from this vantage point. On this guided tour, you will learn firsthand about their duties and how they witnessed the transformation of Leipzig over the centuries.
The historic bells of St. Thomas Church are also deeply impressive. The bells in the church tower are not only impressive works of art, but also bear witness to a tumultuous history. Each of them has its own unique sound and meaning. During the guided tour, you will learn what messages they convey and why they are so special.
This tower climb offers a unique combination of history, adventure, and spectacular views. Experience Leipzig from above and be captivated by the stories of St. Thomas Church!
