Your adventure begins early with collection from your accommodation in Hazyview, with departure times varying according to the season to allow you to experience the Kruger National Park from gate opening to gate closing. Climb aboard our comfortable open safari vehicle and prepare for an unforgettable extended day in the African bush.

Spend approximately 12 hours on safari, making the most of Kruger’s operating hours and giving you more time to explore its vast wilderness. Entering the park at gate opening provides an excellent opportunity to search for wildlife during the cooler early morning hours, when many animals are at their most active.

Accompanied by a qualified and passionate safari guide, travel through different habitats and landscapes while learning about the wildlife, behaviour and natural environment of the Kruger National Park. Your guide will use their experience and knowledge of the park to seek out the best wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the day.

Keep watch for the legendary Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo — as well as cheetahs, African wild dogs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, hippos, numerous antelope species and Kruger’s incredible variety of birdlife. Every day in the bush is different, and no two safaris are ever the same.

During the safari, we will make stops at selected rest camps where you can enjoy breakfast and lunch, purchase refreshments, browse the local curio shops or simply stretch your legs before continuing the adventure. Meals and refreshments are for your own account unless arranged in advance, while bottled water is provided.

With the entire day available, there is more opportunity to enjoy memorable sightings, explore different areas of the park and appreciate the smaller details that make the African bush so special.

As the afternoon temperatures begin to cool, wildlife activity may increase again and the softer light provides beautiful conditions for photography. We continue exploring throughout the afternoon, making the most of our time in Kruger before beginning our journey towards the exit.
