Nairobi: 5-Day Kasigau Community and Wasini Island Tour｜Kenya

Day 1: Nairobi – Voi – Kasigau Community

Begin your journey with an early morning transfer to the SGR station in Nairobi for a scenic train ride to Voi. Enjoy views of Kenya’s open landscapes and rural countryside. In Voi, meet your guide and head to a local restaurant for lunch.

After lunch, depart to Kasigau Community, located between Tsavo East and Tsavo West, at the foot of the scenic Kasigau Hill. Check in at the community bandas. The rest of the afternoon is dedicated to immersive cultural experiences, including interaction with local community members, traditional dances and storytelling, basket weaving demonstrations by Kasigau women, and a tree planting experience contributing to conservation efforts.

In the evening, enjoy a scenic sundowner experience overlooking the vast plains with light snacks, followed by dinner around a bonfire. Spend the night at Kasigau Bandas.

Day 2: Full Day Kasigau Nature & Cultural Experience

After breakfast, immerse yourself in the natural and ecological richness of Kasigau. Enjoy guided nature walks and eco-learning experiences around the Kasigau ecosystem, explore indigenous plants, trees, and their traditional uses, and interact with community conservation initiatives. Have lunch at the bandas.

In the afternoon, visit the Kasigau historical site, where you will learn about the First World War (WWI) events in the region, particularly the encounters between British and German forces and how these events shaped the local community and its history. Return in the evening for relaxation. Have dinner and spend the night at Kasigau Bandas.

Day 3: Kasigau – Tsunza Community – Diani Beach

After breakfast, depart Kasigau and drive to the Kenyan Coast, with a special stop at the Tsunza Community, a coastal village known for its rich mangrove ecosystem and sustainable community projects. Engage in guided nature walks through mangrove forests, village interaction and cultural immersion, and gain insight into local coastal livelihoods and conservation efforts. Have lunch within the community setting.

After lunch, proceed to Diani Beach, Kenya’s famous coastal destination, known for its white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to relax and enjoy the coastal ambiance. Have dinner and spend the night at Leopard Beach Resort.

Day 4: Full Day Wasini Island

7:30 AM pick up. Drive through coastal villages and coconut plantations to the historic fishing village of Shimoni. Board a traditional dhow. Enjoy a dhow cruise from Shimoni for dolphin spotting and snorkeling in the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park. Lunch on Wasini Island and a guided tour of the local coral garden. Have dinner and spend the night at Leopard Beach Resort.

Day 5: Diani – Nairobi (SGR) – Departure
Transfer to the SGR station (Mombasa Terminus) for your return train journey to Nairobi. Upon arrival, be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward international departure flight.
