Product Info

Most visitors to Yerevan get to see the city. On this walk, we’ll try to understand it.

We’ll begin at the Cascade, a place that has long been part of everyday life in Yerevan. This is where locals meet friends, go on dates, catch up on the latest news, and simply spend time together. It’s one of the best places to experience the city’s open, creative, and relaxed character.

Along the way, we’ll grab a traditional Armenian coffee brewed in a cezve and continue our walk through the city center. We’ll pass by the courtyard of the Komitas State Conservatory, where music, art, and everyday city life have existed side by side for decades. Here, you’ll see works by renowned Armenian sculptors and discover why creativity has always played such an important role in Armenian culture.

Our next stop introduces one of Armenia’s most unique culinary specialties: jingyalov hats. This thin flatbread filled with more than twenty varieties of fresh herbs has become a true gastronomic symbol of the country.

As we continue, we’ll stroll past Swan Lake, admire the famous Opera and Ballet Theatre, and walk along Northern Avenue, where the energy of modern Yerevan is at its strongest. Here, we’ll try lahmajun, a thin baked flatbread topped with seasoned meat and spices, loved by generations of Armenians.

Next, we’ll walk along one of the city’s oldest streets, where historic 19th-century buildings, old facades, and architectural details still reflect Yerevan’s past.

We’ll then arrive at one of the most atmospheric places in the city center — a historic courtyard that is more than 150 years old. Today, it is home to art studios, galleries, antique shops, and cozy cafés. Antique stores here are filled with objects from around the world, while local craftsmen and artists give old treasures a new life.

This courtyard is also home to one of Armenia’s oldest wine cellars. Surrounded by historic stone walls, we’ll taste Armenian wine and learn about the country’s ancient winemaking traditions.

Our next stop is Republic Square, the heart of Yerevan and the city’s most iconic landmark. Surrounded by magnificent buildings made of pink tuff stone, it brings together history, architecture, and modern city life.

After Republic Square, we’ll visit another historic Yerevan courtyard that is more than 100 years old. Today, it serves as an inspiring example of how old city courtyards are being revived while preserving their history and character. This atmospheric and concept-driven space is rarely discovered by travelers on their own. Each house tells its own story and reflects Armenia’s drinking culture — from wine and beer to traditional spirits. Surrounded by the charm of old Yerevan, this is where we will bring our journey to a close.

Through flavors, stories, historic courtyards, and local traditions, you’ll discover Yerevan the way locals know it — warm, welcoming, and truly authentic.
