Product Info

Your Salazie Trail experience begins with hotel pickup and a scenic drive to Sans Soucis Road, located within Morne Seychellois National Park. After meeting your guide and receiving a short briefing, the walk starts at an easy, relaxed pace along a quiet road surrounded by dense forest and cool mountain air. This gentle beginning allows time to settle in while learning about the national park and the role it plays in protecting Mahé’s interior ecosystems.

The route passes through a historic tea plantation area, where the landscape opens briefly and offers insight into Seychelles’ agricultural past. Further along, you walk through a reforestation zone where endemic plant species are being replanted, and your guide explains their importance to the island’s biodiversity. The walk then leaves the road and joins a dirt path, continuing through forested sections with soft terrain and minimal elevation change, making the hike suitable for guests seeking a calm and enjoyable nature walk.

Toward the end of the trail, there is a short, gentle descent through the forest on a dirt path, adding a sense of progression without significant physical strain. The hike concludes on the opposite side of the island at La Misère Road, where your vehicle awaits for a comfortable pickup and return. Overall, the Salazie Trail offers a laid back, scenic walk that highlights forest landscapes, conservation efforts, and the quiet beauty of Mahé’s interior.
