Product Info

The tour begins in the heart of Akmenė, at the central town square, where you will hear engaging stories about the town’s past. Your local guide will introduce the origins of Akmenė, dating back to the 16th century, and explain its importance in the context of Lithuanian history.
As you walk through the town, you will learn how Akmenė changed over time, what challenges it faced, and how its cultural heritage was preserved. The route includes a visit to the historic wall and an open-air museum, where copies of archaeological finds and reconstructions of 17th-century treasures are displayed.
Along the way, you will see the stone sculpture composition “The Table of the Wise,” a memorial dedicated to the Jewish community, a monument to the Rušinas family, and a mythological stone engraved with the coat of arms of Akmenė located in the town square.
The tour continues with visits to the Independence Monument and the bell tower of St. Anne’s Church, where a sacred exhibition is presented. You will also climb the bell tower, rising 54 meters above the ground, offering panoramic views of Akmenė and its surrounding landscape.
This guided tour is ideal for visitors who want to explore a lesser-known Lithuanian town and gain an authentic understanding of its history through local storytelling, historical insight, and a relaxed walking pace.
