Product Info

Begin your unforgettable journey in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, before traveling toward the breathtaking landscapes of Issyk-Kul Lake, the second-largest alpine lake in the world. This 3-day adventure combines spectacular mountain scenery, ancient Silk Road history, colorful canyons, alpine valleys, waterfalls, and authentic cultural experiences while ending comfortably in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The journey begins with a visit to the famous Burana Tower, one of the most important historical monuments in Kyrgyzstan. Dating back to the 11th century, the tower once stood in the ancient Silk Road city of Balasagun. Explore the old minaret, archaeological remains, and stone balbals while learning about the fascinating history of nomadic civilizations and trade routes connecting Asia and Europe.

Continue the scenic drive along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake surrounded by snow-capped Tian Shan mountains, traditional villages, and panoramic landscapes. One of the highlights of the first day is the spectacular Skazka Canyon, also known as Fairytale Canyon. The canyon is famous for its colorful red and orange sandstone formations shaped by nature over thousands of years. Walking through the canyon feels like entering another world filled with dramatic rock formations and stunning viewpoints overlooking the lake and mountains.

After exploring the canyon, continue toward Bokonbaevo for overnight stay near the peaceful lakeshore.

On the second day, travel deeper into eastern Issyk-Kul region and visit the beautiful Barskoon Gorge, one of the most picturesque mountain valleys in Kyrgyzstan. The gorge is known for its waterfalls, pine forests, alpine meadows, and fresh mountain air surrounded by spectacular Tian Shan landscapes.

The adventure continues to Jety-Oguz Gorge, one of the country’s most iconic natural landmarks. The famous red rock formations called “Seven Bulls” rise above green valleys, forests, and rivers, creating one of the most photogenic places in Kyrgyzstan.

Later arrive in Karakol, the cultural center of eastern Kyrgyzstan known for its unique atmosphere and multicultural history.

On the final day, explore Karakol’s famous landmarks including the colorful Dungan Mosque and Holy Trinity Orthodox Church before continuing toward the stunning Karkyra Valley near the Kazakhstan border. Enjoy peaceful alpine landscapes, mountain rivers, and panoramic views of the Tian Shan range during one of the most scenic drives of the journey.

Arrive at the Kegen border crossing where the Kyrgyzstan part of the tour ends. After border procedures, comfortable transfer service to Almaty will be provided in a separate vehicle with arrival expected in the evening.

This overland adventure offers the perfect combination of nature, culture, mountains, history, and scenic road trip experiences across Central Asia.
