Product Info

We begin our tour with a hotel pick-up of your choice at 8:00 a.m. From there, we drive for about one hour through the city of Luanda toward the Moon Viewpoint (Miradouro da Lua), a stunning lunar-like rock formation overlooking the Atlantic coast.

After approximately 20 minutes enjoying the view and taking photos, we continue to the Slavery Museum, where we spend around 15 minutes learning about one of the most impactful periods in Angolan history. We then stop at a local craft market, offering time to browse and purchase handmade souvenirs.

We continue our tour on a boat towards the Mussulo Island for a glimpse of the local beaches.

On our way back to the city center, we drive through Cidade Alta, Luanda’s upper city and governmental district, known for its Portuguese-style colonial buildings. We stop at the Mausoleum of Agostinho Neto and visit the museum dedicated to the life and work of Angola’s first president for about 20 minutes. The mausoleum is a striking monument inspired by Soviet architecture and is also the final resting place of Agostinho Neto.

The tour continues with a visit to the Iron Palace, an iconic 1880 landmark attributed to Gustave Eiffel. When available, we enjoy art exhibitions here for approximately 15 minutes. We then explore the city center with a short walk along the promenade of the iconic 4th of February Avenue, stopping for photos at the famous “I Love Luanda” sign.

Next, we drive to Ilha do Cabo, a 7 km-long peninsula known for its beautiful beachfront and wide variety of restaurants and cafés

We then visit the Fortress of São Miguel, a late 16th-century Portuguese fort, where we enjoy panoramic views overlooking the entire capital city.

We conclude our day enjoying a local delicacy "Mufete" traditional dish of grilled fish, plantain, sweet potato, kassava and palm oil beans
