Meet your tour guide in the lobby of your Datong hotel, at Datong Railway Station, or at Datong Airport. Then hop into your private vehicle and head directly to Yungang Grottoes, a 30-minute journey. Your tour guide will explain the relevant history and stories along the way, and you are welcome to ask questions.

Upon arrival, follow your tour guide to admire the outstanding achievements of 5th- and 6th-century Buddhist cave art at Yungang Grottoes.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then head directly to Hengshan Hanging Temple, a 1.5-hour journey. The Hanging Temple is the only existing temple that hosts worship for Taoists, Confucians, and Buddhists. Built in A.D. 491, Hanging Temple is an architectural wonder because it hangs on the west cliff of Jinxia Gorge, more than 50 meters above the ground. Follow your tour guide to experience this 1,400-year-old architectural wonder, learn about the history of three major religions in China, and discover how these beliefs have been incorporated into the architecture.
