You will need to travel to the matcha experience and Higashi Hongan-ji Temple on your own. After the experience, you will be dismissed temporarily, and you may enter Higashi Hongan-ji Temple during the admission hours of 17:00 to 18:00, so please arrive accordingly.
Please aim to arrive 5 to 10 minutes before the start time, as tea rooms and classrooms require preparation and coordination with other participants. You may not be able to participate if you are late.
Bare feet are strictly prohibited as you will be entering a tea room (tatami mat area). Please bring and wear clean white socks or tabi socks.
As tea sweets (wagashi) will be served, please be sure to declare any allergies to ingredients (such as red bean paste, wheat, yam, nuts, etc.) in advance.
Photography and video recording may be prohibited to protect the privacy of the tea room and other guests. Please confirm with your instructor or staff when it is appropriate to take photos.
As these events are often held outdoors at castles or historical sites at night, the ground can be very dark. While strollers and wheelchairs are permitted, please be extra cautious of unpaved paths and steps.
Photography is generally allowed; however, the use of tripods, monopods, flashes, and commercial photography is prohibited in most cases. Some events may also designate areas where photography is completely forbidden.
