Get back to nature on a day trip to Volcanoes National Park and discover some of the most dramatic landscapes on earth. Drive over the famous Saddle Road and admire Mount Mauna Loa and Mount Mauna Kea on either side. Stop to look at the beautiful black sands of Richardson Beach near Hilo, where turtles sometimes come to visit.

Continue along historic Banyan Drive and past Queen Liliuokalani Gardens to see the amazing banyan trees that bear the names of famous people who planted them through history. Get a stunning view of the island from Rainbow Falls State Park, and then take a delicious tour of the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory. See over 200 different types of orchids of various shapes and striking colors.

Enter Volcanoes National Park and be captivated by the active volcano of Kīlauea. Walk the Thurston Lava Tube through the lush jungle and see where the ground water seeps down to the hot volcanic rocks and returns to the surface through incredible steam vents.
