Product Info

Why not try your hand at pottery, a traditional craft that has been practiced for over 1,000 years?

Begin your journey at Meitetsu Owari-Seto Station, a 40-minute train ride from Nagoya, we will transport you by private vehicle to the historic studio in Seto City.

At the workshop,You will be instructed by a skilled potter with over 50 years of experience. You can enjoy a pottery-making experience using an electric wheel to create everyday tableware such as bowls and tea cups.

From the 3 pieces you create, we will fire and mail 2 of the best-made pieces to you. You can choose from 15 different colors for each one.

If you’d like to take all the pottery home, you can do so for 1,000 yen for each additional piece after the second one.(Cash Only)

Your creation will undergo the subsequent processes of bisque firing and glaze firing to be completed. This typically takes 1-2 months. The finished piece will be shipped to your home via an international shipping service arranged in advance through your guide (international shipping fees are additional. Cash Only). Your one-of-a-kind Seto ware, crafted by your own hands, will be the ultimate travel souvenir.

Next, transfer by private car to the long-established Seto ware retailer. Browse a wide range of Seto ware, from traditional art crafts passed down through generations to modern tableware designs suited for contemporary dining, and even affordable souvenirs.

Enjoy approximately 45 minutes of free time to choose souvenirs for yourself or gifts for loved ones from the diverse collection of vessels, featuring Seto ware's uniquely beautiful glazes and the warmth of the clay.
