- Option 1: only Shirakawago tour option, includes the visit to Shirakawago from Kanazawa only.
- Option 2: Shirakawago and Kanazawa tour option, includes the visit to Shirakawago and Kanazawa from Kanazawa
Your day commences with a departure from Kanazawa, embarking on an experience steeped in history, culture, and awe-inspiring scenery. The first port of call is the UNESCO World Heritage village of Shirakawago, renowned for its traditional gassho-zukuri houses. These homes, with their steep thatched roofs, are ingeniously designed to withstand heavy snowfall. Here, you have the opportunity to savour lunch at your leisure and meander through tranquil streets, appreciating the timeless architecture and local crafts.

The tour reaches the stunning Kenrokuen Garden, where the tour ends for those who have chosen the “Shirakawago only” option (admission not included). For those on the full experience, the visit continues inside the garden, enjoying its ponds, bridges, lanterns, and pathways in a setting that changes with the seasons.

After visiting the garden, the next destination will be the historic district of Higashi Chaya, where you can stroll along cobblestone streets lined with traditional teahouses. You’ll have free time to explore and experience the district’s rich cultural heritage.
