Step back in time on a fascinating journey to Transnistria, a self-proclaimed republic that has existed separately from Moldova since 1992. Often described as a "living Soviet museum", this unique region still preserves Soviet symbols, monuments and traditions rarely seen elsewhere in Europe.

The tour begins with a drive from Chișinău towards Transnistria's capital, Tiraspol. You'll explore wide boulevards, Lenin statues and Soviet-era architecture, and learn about the region's complex political history and everyday life.

After visiting Tiraspol, you'll continue to Bender (Tighina) to explore the impressive Bender Fortress, a 16th-century Ottoman stronghold located on the banks of the Dniester River. Your guide will share stories about the fortress's strategic importance and its role in regional conflicts over the centuries, offering a rare insight into one of Europe's most unusual regions.
