Then, it's on to see the Green Caves, or Cueva de los Verdes. This ancient cave system was formed up to 5,000 years ago when La Corona Volcano erupted, creating a vast tunnel from lava flows. Cesar Manrique helped to redesign the caves for visitors in the 60s and you'll find his subtle lighting gives the place an otherworldly feel.
