Discover the northern state of Malaysia, Perlis, on a day trip from Penang Island. Begin with an early morning pickup and travel to the border town of Padang Besar, known as a shopping paradise. Explore the Arked Niaga Padang Besar and Padang Waremart, where you can find affordable goods from both Thailand and Malaysia, including jerseys, handbags, household products, and Thai food.

Next, head to Kelam Cave, also known as Gua Kelam, which translates to "Dark Cave." Walk the 1.5-kilometer interpretive trail, which includes cement pathways, earthen tracks, and small stream crossings, illuminating the cave's historical significance.

After the walk, taste the famous Big Pau, also known as Kuan Mei Handmade Pau, in Kaki Bukit. Then, proceed to the city town of Kangar for its street art and rainbow bridge. End the trip with a visit to Wat Sukkhavutthalai Thai Buddhist Temple before heading back to Penang.
