Day 1: Fairy Chimneys of Cappadocia
After pickup from your Cappadocia hotel, begin your full-day tour with a visit to Goreme Open Air Museum, an extraordinary cave complex in the heart of Goreme Valley. Explore rock-cut churches, kitchens, and wineries used by early Anatolian Christians, and admire vivid Byzantine frescoes at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue to Devrent Valley, also known as Imagination Valley, famous for its animal-shaped rock formations, including a pillar resembling the Virgin Mary holding Jesus. Then visit Pasabag Valley, renowned for its iconic fairy chimneys and dramatic volcanic scenery.
Proceed to Avanos, a charming riverside town known for its pottery traditions, carpet weaving, wine production, and agriculture. Enjoy a traditional Turkish lunch, followed by a hands-on pottery demonstration with local artisans.
After lunch, stop at Goreme Panorama for sweeping views of fairy chimneys rising from the valley floor. Continue to Uchisar, home to the highest rock castle in the region. Climb to the top for breathtaking panoramic views of Cappadocia’s surreal landscape.
At the end of the tour, return to your Cappadocia hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Underground Cities of Cappadocia
After breakfast at your hotel, depart for a full-day exploration. Begin with a scenic walk through Rose Valley and Red Valley, known for their sharp ridges and pink-hued rock formations. Venture off the beaten path to Cavusin to explore its famous rock-cut churches.
Continue to Pigeon Valley, named after the many pigeon houses carved into the soft volcanic rock. Enjoy a walk through this scenic valley filled with unique formations and panoramic viewpoints.
Descend into one of Cappadocia’s remarkable underground cities, once sheltering up to 15,000 Christians. Explore ancient bedrooms, churches, kitchens, storage rooms, and ventilation shafts within this multi-level city stretching across kilometers of tunnels.
Conclude the tour in Ortahisar, a picturesque town known for its stone houses, narrow streets, and imposing castle-like rock formation dominating the skyline.
After the tour, transfer back to your Cappadocia hotel.
