- About the Exhibition -

Human civilization originated from rivers; water both nurtures life and brings change, driving humanity to establish cities, institutions, and beliefs. The Ancient Civilizations Exhibition in Kaohsiung takes rivers as its core, transforming distant history into a sensory experience through immersive spaces and light-and-shadow storytelling.

In the Mesopotamia region, people honed laws, writing, and social structures amidst a changing environment; the stable cycles of the Nile nurtured eternal beliefs spanning life and death. By the Indus River, the flowing water symbolizes cycles and introspective philosophy; meanwhile, the Mediterranean, through the flow of the sea, opened the door to rational inquiry and cross-cultural exchange.

This exhibition features 33 carefully selected anchor exhibits, combined with exquisite replicas and large-scale scenes, to map out civilization systems and over 50 knowledge points, capturing key moments in human development. Visitors will traverse the evolution of water, city-states, and thought, rediscovering how the four great civilizations addressed the core question of 'how humans exist' through the interplay of sound and light. This is a fluid journey across time and space, leading us back to the origins of civilization.
