What is the Shingen Festival?
This festival is held every year to commemorate the legacy of Takeda Shingen, a famous general from the Sengoku period, and the main event is the "Koshu Corps Departure." It recreates the scene of Takeda Shingen marching into battle at Kawanakajima, where he clashed with Uesugi Kenshin, a Sengoku daimyo who ruled what is now the Hokuriku region. The sight of over 1,000 participants gathered dressed as Sengoku warriors is a spectacular sight. The entire area is like a huge Sengoku period picture scroll.

- Seat numbers cannot be specified. Please confirm your seat number when you exchange your ticket on the day of the event.
- There is no child fare. Preschool children are free if they sit on your lap. If they require a seat, there is a fee.
- In case of rain, umbrellas will not be permitted in the stands, so please bring a raincoat or similar.
- Please prepare warm clothing as the weather may be cold.
