[Departing from Yashima Marsh] A recommended guided tour popular with both beginners and repeat visitors! A professional guide (Kirigamine Interpreter) will take you on a tour of the precious and charming Yashima Marsh, which is designated as a national natural monument. The course mainly consists of boardwalks, so it is recommended for families with children and those who are not confident in their physical strength. Enjoy the leisurely pace of Kirigamine while feeling the changing scenery, plants and flowers, and various creatures of the seasons. Recommended for solo travelers, as well as families and friends. ~Experience Flow~ ①Meeting and Insurance Procedures We will be waiting for you in front of the Yashima Visitor Center. Please use the restroom before gathering. After meeting with the guide, please fill out the insurance registration form. ②Departure We will move to the plaza of Yashima Marsh and the tour will begin. We will take a clockwise loop around the Yashima Marsh route. ③Yashima Pond A popular spot representative of Yashima Marsh. ④Kama Pond The view of the pond through the trees has a different atmosphere from Yashima Pond. ⑤ About one-third of the way from the starting point at Okukirigamine. From here on, the road changes to a paved road and then a gravel road. There is a bio-toilet. (*Bio-toilet is closed in winter) ⑥ This area offers close-up views of the Misayama grassland and larch forest, and also provides a glimpse into the history of the former Misayama Shrine. ⑦ Turning back at Misayama, you walk along a wooden boardwalk. This spot is beautiful in summer with sunlight filtering through the trees and in winter with frost. ⑧ The final stretch of the Yashima Marsh and Washigamine course. This tour will take you on a walk through Yashima Wetland, guiding you through its formation, the diverse range of wildlife that inhabits it, and the history of the relationship between Kirigamine and people, from various perspectives.

(Ministry of the Environment's "100 Soundscapes of Japan to Preserve") In summer, flowers such as Rhododendron molle and Hemerocallis middendorffii bloom, and it becomes a lively season with summer birds and butterflies fluttering about. In autumn, when the sky is a clear blue and the grasses turn red, willowherb and scabiosa add color, and the courtship calls of stags can be heard from beyond the shimmering silver pampas grass. Eventually, when sub-zero temperatures continue, the marshland is enveloped in a world of snow and ice, and the footprints left in the snow spark the imagination of the animals that survive the harsh winter.
