  • Located in central Kumamoto Prefecture, this river trekking experience takes you through the clear waters of the Tsuru River, flowing through Misato Town, known for its stone bridges. You'll experience the gentle currents of the river and navigate small waterfalls and rapids on your own, all while aiming for the finish line. Along the course, you'll also enjoy the history, culture, and nature of Misato Town, including stone bridges and waterfalls built during the Edo period, creating a mystical atmosphere unique to the Tsuru River. After the experience, head to the hot springs changing room in your wetsuit! A soak in the "Samata no Yu" hot spring is included. This highly satisfying experience also includes a souvenir of Misato Town's new specialty, "Ishibashi Sable." All you need to bring is a swimsuit and a long-sleeved rash guard! We've simplified the preparations to make it easy to participate. Equipment available for rent here: helmet, life jacket, wet boots, long john type wetsuit (sleeveless) Experience process: Check-in ~ changing clothes (30 minutes) Entering the river ~ leaving the river (70 minutes) Travel (20 minutes) Afterwards, head straight to the hot springs! *This experience is provided in cooperation with Misato Town Development Corporation and Roadside Station Misato Samata no Yu.

  • The field is a moderate mountain stream, not a rapids! Elementary school children can also participate safely.
  • You can experience it right from the meeting point!
  • There's no need to travel by car from the meeting point, so you can make the most of your time while traveling!

Regarding cancellation of the event:

  • Please note that the tour may be canceled due to bad weather or other reasons. In such cases, we will not compensate for transportation costs to the tour location.

  • *Please be sure to meet on time. If you are late, you may not be able to participate. (Please be sure to contact us if you are going to be late.) *Please note that as the field is a river, the course may be changed or the tour may not be carried out even if the weather is good due to flooding, drought, construction, etc. *The tour may be cancelled due to weather conditions on the day. In that case, no cancellation fee will be charged.

  • What to wear and what to bring: ◆Please be sure to bring your swimsuit. This will be worn underneath your wetsuit. It will make changing easier if you wear it underneath beforehand. ◆Long-sleeved rash guard (long-sleeved synthetic underwear is also acceptable), ◆Tights or five-finger socks are recommended for those with sensitive skin, ◆Towel, ◆One change of clothes, ◆Plastic bag to put your change of clothes in, ◆If you wear glasses, please bring a glasses band that can be securely fastened (octopus string is also acceptable), ◆Drinking water for hydration (a plastic bottle with a lid is good), ◆Insect repellent spray, etc. (There are many different insects in nature. Please bring your usual insect repellent if necessary.)

  • Rental equipment: We rent helmets, life jackets, wet boots, and long john wetsuits (sleeveless).

・By car: ・From Matsubashi IC, take National Route 218 toward Yamato for approximately 15 kilometers, approximately 20 minutes by car. ・From Mifune IC, take National Routes 445 and 443 for approximately 15 kilometers, approximately 20 minutes by car. ・By other means: ・Get off at Matsubashi Station on the JR Kagoshima Main Line. From the station, take the Kyushu Sanko Bus (bound for Toyo) for approximately 45 minutes. Get off at the "Samata no Yu" bus stop and it's a short walk away. (By taxi, it's approximately 30 minutes.) ・From Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, take the Kumamoto Bus (bound for Toyo via Kosa) for approximately 1 hour. Get off at the "Samata no Yu" bus stop and it's a short walk away.
