【What is Koshikijima?】
Koshikijima is a mystical island located off the west coast of Kagoshima Prefecture, where nature remains largely untouched.
Its most striking feature is its dramatic landscape of towering cliffs and unique rock formations, which were formed by geological layers dating back 80 million years.
This spectacle is best viewed from the sea during a cruise.
The island is also home to scientifically significant and breathtaking sites, such as the nationally designated natural monument, Nagame-no-hama Beach, and the mysterious lakes of Namako-ike and Kai-ike.
Additionally, Koshikijima is famous for its fresh seafood, including Kibinago (silver-stripe round herring) and Japanese tiger prawns, allowing visitors to enjoy a rich culinary culture.

The high-speed ferry connects Sendai Port in Satsumasendai City with Koshikijima Island in as little as 50 minutes.
