Bath, located in Somerset, southwest England, on the banks of the River Avon, about 160 kilometers from London, is the only ancient city in the UK whose entire urban area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, having been inscribed in 1987.

The city's name, "Bath," originally means "bath," originating in the Roman Empire two thousand years ago, born from natural underground hot springs. The entire city is built uniformly using warm, honey-colored Bath limestone, and its more than 5,000 historic buildings perfectly preserve the 18th-century Georgian classical style. Jane Austen's aristocratic social scenes are modeled after this style, and the city exudes a gentle and elegant English atmosphere.

The pinnacle of Georgian architecture: The Royal Crescent

A classic work by 18th-century architect John Wood the Younger, this sweeping crescent comprises 30 terraced townhouses connected in a perfect arc, with 114 elegant Ionic columns standing in a row — earning it the reputation of "England's most prestigious street."

Nearby stands the Circus, whose facade is carved with astronomical and scientific emblems, the work of John Wood the Elder. Together, father and son created a world-renowned model of neoclassical urban planning, with lawns and gently sloping stone houses forming a perfect backdrop for photos.
