The Flying Fox Heli Hike offers an exhilarating blend of adventure, exploration, and breathtaking aerial views.
Combining the thrill of helicopter flights with the unique experience of walking on the magnificent Fox Glacier, this tour gives guests access to a part of the glacier where the forces of nature shape spectacular ice caves and arches. After being outfitted with leather walking boots and other necessary equipment, participants embark on a helicopter ride over the pinnacles of the lower icefall, where the ice is constantly in motion.
Upon landing on a remote and stunning section of the glacier, guests witness the majestic Victoria Falls—fed by the melt river from the hidden Victoria Glacier. Outfitted with crampons, hikers follow their guide through ever-changing ice formations, creating a sense of discovery with each step.
This adventure offers up to 3 hours of ice time, allowing guests to explore the glacier’s pristine beauty. While the ice features evolve constantly, making each hike unique, guests can expect a thrilling and immersive experience.

- A moderate fitness is recommended for this trip, which is a level of fitness sufficient to ascend and descend 500-800m over 4-6 hours carrying a light pack 10kg (22lb)
- Due to safety reason, this trip requires customers to have a very good level of English in order to participate
- There is an individual passenger weight restriction of 116kg/256 pounds
- There is a 3 kg or 6.6 lbs limit per passenger for carry-on baggage

- Cancellation is not allowed between 0–2 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
