The Czech Republic is more than just a land of beer; it boasts a centuries-old tradition of fruit brandies, particularly those crafted from plums.
Slivovitz, an exquisite alcoholic beverage, has been a staple in Central and Eastern Europe for centuries, synonymous with both Moravia and Bohemia. Distilled from plums, it typically contains between 40 and 55 percent alcohol. The tradition of fruit spirits dates back as far as 1585, with the company itself established in 1894. RUDOLF JELINEK's products are renowned throughout the Czech Republic and globally.
The Slivovitz Museum "Distillery Land" in Prague opened its doors to the public in 2019. Here, visitors delve into the production methods, history of Slivovitz, and the company's legacy as a leading Czech producer and exporter of fruit spirits and other alcoholic beverages. Expect engaging projections, exhibits, and an immersive 5D virtual reality experience.
As part of the tour, guests enjoy tastings of three fruit distillates paired with canapés in a stylish bar evoking the modern Wallachia ambiance. Choose between Standard or Premium (Kosher) tastings, with Kosher spirits adhering strictly to Jewish dietary laws overseen by a rabbi throughout production.
Conclude your visit by exploring a beautiful shop area where you can purchase a comprehensive selection of genuine fruit spirits, Czech gold Cock whisky, and other distillery products from Vizovice. Also available are plum jam, plum tea, prunes, and R. JELÍNEK brand souvenirs.

- The exhibition is self guided in Czech and English languages, audio guides are available on request in German, Russian, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Hebrew, Korean and Polish . Ask the staff.
