- Facility Introduction -
Kairakuen Garden is one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan, along with Kenrokuen in Kanazawa and Korakuen in Okayama.
Located within Kairakuen is Kobuntei, a three-story wooden structure with two main levels, said to have been designed by Tokugawa Nariaki, the 9th lord of the Mito Domain.
It is said that Nariaki invited literati, artists, retainers, and local people here to enjoy poetry and tea ceremonies.

1. Take a bus from Mito Station North Exit Bus Stop 4 (Ibaraki Kotsu) (about 20 minutes) - Get off at "Kobuntei Omotemon Iriguchi" and walk about 3 minutes.
2. Take a bus from Mito Station North Exit Bus Stop 6 (Kanto Railway) (about 20 minutes) - get off at "Kairakuen Senbako" and walk 5-10 minutes.
