- Itinerary Introduction -
Keelung Islet is an uninhabited island also known as Keelung Island. It was called Jilong Islet in ancient times. It is administratively under Zhongzheng District, Keelung City. It is located in the East China Sea off the northeast coast of Keelung. It is the most distinctive natural island landmark of Keelung and the northern coastal area of northern Taiwan. It is also a landmark for ships from various countries sailing in and out of Keelung Port, accompanying Keelung's sunrise and sunset day and night. The straight-line distance between Keelung Island and Heping Island is about 3.3 kilometers, and the distance to Keelung Port is about 4 kilometers.
Keelung Island Pier was hit by Typhoon Soulik in 2013. The Keelung City Government completed repairs in August 2014. Unfortunately, in October of the same year, it was affected by the outer circulation of the typhoon, causing the pier to break and many wave-breaking blocks to block the waterway. For safety reasons, the pier had to be closed and landing on the island was prohibited. Thanks to the Keelung City Government for obtaining repair funds from the central government in 2017, the relevant project is about to be completed.
In order to allow more tourists to appreciate the beautiful scenery of Keelung Island, this beautiful volcanic island, not only by taking a boat from the sea, but also by climbing onto Keelung Island and exploring the island along the wooden boardwalk, they can climb up to admire the precious igneous rock geological landscape in the pavilion, and closely observe the island's native plants displaying the beauty of natural ecology on both sides of the trail. The scenery on the island changes depending on the viewing position on land, and its multiple beauties are revealed due to climate change. When the weather is clear, the majesty of the volcanic island can be seen, and the vague Keelung Island at sunrise and dusk appears even more mysterious. In spring, when flowers bloom, wild lilies cover Keelung Island. From September to October, the mountains are covered with golden amaryllis, which is the most beautiful focus of the island. Please be sure to arrive at the meeting point [No. 211, Beining Road, Zhongzheng District, Keelung City, Badouzi Fishing Port, Bisha Port Area, Jinlong Yacht Fleet Check-in Counter] 30 minutes before the boat departure time, and bring one of the following identification documents: ID card, health insurance card, or passport to complete the check-in procedures and provide it for inspection by the Coast Guard. Considering the rights of fellow passengers, if you fail to arrive before the ship departs, you will not be kept waiting. Please pay attention to the check-in time.
The Keelung Island tour requires a minimum of 15 people to set sail. The actual sailing time may be adjusted depending on the registration situation on the day. You will be notified by phone the day before.
If the ferry needs to be cancelled due to bad sea conditions or the group has not been formed, we will proactively notify the passengers one day in advance to change the date or cancel the reservation and refund the full amount. Whether to sail out due to walrus is determined by a professional captain, based on the forecasted size of waves and wind direction. If it rains but the waves are small, the boat will depart as normal and the fleet will provide light raincoats free of charge. If it is sunny but the waves are high, the boat trip will be cancelled.
In 2024, Keelung Island will be open to the public with a daily quota of 1,200 people (real-name quota). We will upload your information to the Keelung Island Tourism Reservation Platform of the Municipal Government to register for island quota in the order of registration. Please be sure to provide correct personal information (name + date of birth + ID number or passport number). If the quota for island access is reached on that day, your order may be affected and need to be rescheduled or cancelled.
If you take a boat directly from Bisha Fishing Port to Keelung Island Pier, the journey takes about 20 minutes. Please assess your own physical condition and decide whether to take seasickness medicine or other medicines. It is recommended to get enough sleep before boarding the ship. If you feel that you may be seasick, please refrain from eating spicy or greasy food before sailing, and please take seasickness medicine 30 minutes to 1 hour before sailing. When on a boat, going to the outdoor deck to breathe fresh air or lying down in a berth can relieve seasickness.
All passengers must wear life jackets before sailing and must pass identity checks by Coast Guard security personnel before going out to sea.
Please follow the crew's instructions during the voyage. Do not run or play on the deck to avoid falling and getting injured or falling into the sea.
To maintain the cleanliness of the ship, please do not litter cigarette butts, food, drinks, spit, or drink betel nut juice on board, which may affect the cleanliness of the ship.
