• Kiyomizu-dera Temple
  A temple located in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, Japan, founded around 778 (the 9th year of the Hoki era) by the monk Enchin. The temple's mountain name is Otowasan, and it primarily enshrines the Thousand-Armed Kannon. Originally belonging to the Hosso sect, it is now independent and serves as the head temple of the Kita-Hosso sect. It has frequently appeared in Japanese literature since the Heian period. In 1994, Kiyomizu-dera was registered as a World Heritage site as part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto.
  
  
• Sanjusangendo Temple
  Located in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, Japan, it is an off-site temple of Myoho-in, a Tendai sect temple. Its official name is Rengeo-in Hondo. The hall houses 1,001 statues of the Thousand-Armed Kannon. It is called 'Sanjusangendo' because the space between the pillars is divided into 33 sections. Originally built by Taira no Kiyomori at the command of the Retired Emperor Go-Shirakawa within the grounds of the emperor's detached palace, Hojuji-dono. It is now a National Treasure and an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
  
  
• Arashiyama Stroll
  During the Heian period in Japan, Arashiyama was a gathering place for aristocratic residences, and many relics from that time still remain today. For example, the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge is said to have been built in the early Heian period. The shrines and temples scattered throughout the mountains are full of ancient charm, the Nonomiya bamboo forest path is shaded by bamboo, and a memorial poem stone for Zhou Enlai's 'Arashiyama in the Rain' is quietly hidden in a corner of the mountain. Arashiyama's scenery is especially beautiful when cherry blossoms bloom and maple leaves turn red.
  
  
• To-ji Temple
  Built as a government-run temple to protect Heian-kyo, it was later granted to Kukai (Kobo Daishi) by Emperor Saga and flourished as the fundamental training ground for Shingon Esoteric Buddhism. It was designated as a National Historic Site in 1934 and registered as a World Heritage site in 1994 as part of the 'Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto.' In spring, you can enjoy the beautiful combination of the 'Fuji-zakura' (weeping cherry tree), the five-story pagoda, and green maple leaves.
