A speedboat takes you from Havelock to a shallow reef where the coral starts a few metres below the surface. You float face-down with mask, snorkel, fins and a life jacket, and your guide stays in the water next to you for 30 to 40 minutes.

Pick your reef. Lighthouse is a coral garden below the old lighthouse. Tribe Gate is a sheltered oval reef 5 minutes away. Red Pillar is a shallow crest around a red channel marker. Purple Haze has soft purple corals, Juvi's Reef has large potato corals, and The Slope has stepped coral ridges. Turtle Beach is a quiet staghorn coral garden on the south-east coast, and Aquarium has dense coral gardens with clownfish in the anemones.

Your guide films you on a GoPro, and 20 photos and 2 videos reach your phone before you leave. Hotel pickup and drop within 5 km are included.
