Sunset Lasithi Jeep Safari: Mountains & Cretan Crafts｜Greece

Pick-up and drop-off will be at the hotel entrance or a nearby meeting point, within a short walking distance. The exact time and location will be sent to you via email or WhatsApp the day before the tour.

This unique route takes you deep into the authentic heart of Crete, combining breathtaking mountain landscapes, traditional craftsmanship, sacred heritage, and a refreshing swim to finish the day. The entire journey takes place in comfortable 4×4 jeeps.

Starting from the seaside village of Gouves, we’ll make our way into the majestic Cretan highlands, reaching over 1,100 metres above sea level. Along the way, panoramic views, local traditions, and genuine Cretan hospitality await.



CRETAN KNIFE WORKSHOP



Our first stop will be at the famous Sapounakis Cretan knife workshop. Here, you’ll get a glimpse into the traditional craftsmanship behind Crete’s iconic knives. Learn about their history, the techniques used to create them, and the symbolism they hold in Cretan culture. There will also be time to visit the shop and browse the collection of handmade knives.

VIDIANI MONASTERY



Tucked away among the mountains, Vidiani Monastery is an oasis of peace and spirituality. Surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, the monastery holds deep cultural and historical significance for the local community. You’ll have time to explore the chapel, admire the architecture, and take in the peaceful atmosphere.

CERAMIC WORKSHOP



We’ll then visit a renowned local ceramic studio, where you’ll have the chance to experience a traditional pottery masterclass. Get involved in hands-on activities, discover the art of Cretan pottery, and browse a selection of souvenirs and local products, including olive oil, herbs, and honey.

DINNER AT A TRADITIONAL TAVERN



Later in the evening, we’ll stop at a traditional mountain taverna for an authentic Cretan dinner. Enjoy a selection of freshly prepared local dishes and experience the flavours and hospitality that make Cretan cuisine so special.

MOUNTAIN VIEWPOINTS AND SUNSET



As the day comes to an end, we’ll make our way to breathtaking mountain viewpoints to watch the sunset. From here, you’ll enjoy spectacular views across the central part of the island and the surrounding mountain ranges. It’s the perfect moment to take some photos, slow down, and simply enjoy the incredible scenery.
